R&D Activities in Europe toward Mobile Communication Evolution
Mr. Atsushi TAKESHITA, DOCOMO Communications Laboratories Europe GmbH (DOCOMO Euro-Labs)
Mr. Takeshita has been working on research and development at NTT and NTT DOCOMO. Research areas include multimedia processing, mobile internet and terminal. The development areas include application and security functions for smartphones. He also had an experience in business at a local branch. Since July 2012, he serves as the president and CEO of DOCOMO Euro-Labs whose primary activities are research into wireless and core network technologies, core network related standardization and technology investigation. He received Bachelor and Master from Kyoto University. He is a member of IPSJ and ACM, and was the chair of IPSJ SIG MBL (Mobile Computing and Ubiquitous Communications).

Dr. Ichiro Iida, Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd.
Dr. Ichiro Iida received B.S., M.S. and Ph.D degrees in electronics engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1978, 1980 and 1983, respectively. He joined Fujitsu Labs.Ltd in 1983. He has been engaged in the research and development on computer network and distributed software and he is now the fellow in Fujitsu labs. Ltd., responsible for the human centric computing research group. His research interests include the Internet architecture, Web technologies and mobile ubiquitous computing. He is a member of IPSJ and IEICE japan.

Dr. Masashi Saitoh, Information Technology R&D Center, Mitsubishi Electric Corp.
Dr. Saito has been working for Information Technology R&D Center at Mitsubishi Electric Corp. since 1983 and serves as an chief researcher of Information Technology Laboratory. He worked for Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories as a senior principal technical staff between 2006 and 2010. His current research interests include designing and implementing distributed systems, mobile-computing systems, intelligent transportation systems, and Internet services. He received B.S., M.Eng. and Ph.D degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Cornell University and Osaka University respectively. He is a director of IPSJ and group chief of ITS SIG. He is also a member of ACM and IEEE.
